♻️ New Trash Collection Contract – Starts July 15, 2025
The Village Council approved a new 3-year waste collection agreement with Republic Services, ensuring continued reliable service — at no direct charge to households. This cost is fully covered by your income tax.
- Start Date: July 15, 2025
- Cost to Residents: $0 (funded through local income tax)
- Contract Length: 3 years (with a 5% annual increase in years 2 and 3 — still covered by the Village)
- Toter Size: 96-gallon bins with curbside delivery
What’s Included:
- Two (2) toters per household
- 1 toter provided by Republic Services
- Optional second toter (resident-owned or rented at resident’s expense)
- Pickup of 3 additional items (under 40 lbs) per week
This update ensures high-quality waste service, at no additional cost, as part of the Village’s commitment to responsible, resident-focused budgeting.

Village of Millbury – Brush Pickup Guidelines
To ensure safe and efficient collection, please follow these guidelines when preparing your brush for pickup:
Placement
- Place brush loosely at the curb, not bundled.
- Do not place brush near poles, mailboxes, guy wires, fire hydrants, or other structures.
- Do not place brush in refuse or recycling containers for brush pick up (Republic will take yard waste but it must be bagged).
Size & type restrictions, contractor work
- Limbs over 6 inches in diameter or over 8 feet long will not be collected.
- Stumps will not be collected.
- Brush mixed with leaves, grass clippings, or other yard debris will not be collected.
- The Village will not collect entire trees, or large volumes of brush resulting from contractor work.

Regional Income Tax Agency (RITA) notice
The Regional Income Tax Agency (RITA) mailed Administrative Subpoena letters to taxpayers that did not respond to the Non-Filing Income Tax Notice that was sent before the Subpoena was issued. Taxpayers can send RITA the documents listed on the letter via:
